EDUCATION

We are engaged in Social, Ethical, and Emotional education in the Czech Republic through our long-term support of the SEE Learning program. Since 2019, we have been actively introducing SEE Learning into the Czech educational landscape.

 

We have translated and adapted the curriculum to suit educators across all levels—from preschool to secondary school. Our organization provides facilitation training for teachers and other educators, equipping them to implement the program with confidence and care.

 

We are an accredited provider of professional development for pedagogical staff, committed to fostering compassionate, resilient, and inclusive learning environments.

CULTURE

Školská 28 Communication Space and Gallery, located in a quiet courtyard in Prague 1, offers an open environment for cultural dialogue and creative expression. The space supports diverse voices and traditions, encouraging encounters that strengthen mutual understanding and respect.

 

Since 1998, it has served as a meeting point for artists, thinkers, and communities seeking a place for thoughtful exchange. Its programming is shaped by a commitment to conflict avoidance, constructive dialogue, and the cultivation of shared perspectives across different fields and cultures.

 

Operated by the Linhart Foundation, Školská 28 continues to evolve as a vibrant cultural venue. Through exhibitions, discussions, and collaborative projects, it fosters a space where ideas can meet freely and where cultural and social conversations can unfold with openness and care.

Vision and Hope Prague 2027

SOCIETY

The 1st International Conference Vision & Hope Prague 2007 will take place in 2027. The event will bring together global voices to engage in international dialogue and explore shared approaches to ethical and social challenges.

Prague will become a meeting place for experts, educators, spiritual leaders, and representatives from diverse countries who are seeking constructive ways to deepen understanding, compassion, and responsible global citizenship.

Dialog 26 builds on a long tradition of openness and cultural exchange, creating a platform where meaningful conversations can unfold and where new perspectives can emerge in response to the challenges of our shared world.

SEE STUDENTS VOICE

By empowering students to take an active role from the very beginning, we not only strengthen the educational dimension, but also cultivate the next generation of leaders capable of carrying its values forward.

History of ieev

RNDr. Milan Klečka, founder of the Institute of Environmental Education (IEV), is a former geologist and the visionary behind the Gallery of Mongolian Art, one of the largest collections of Mongolian Buddhist art in Central Europe. Since 2012, the gallery has been housed in a historic water tower built in 1909 by renowned architect Jan Kotěra, offering a unique cultural space shaped by Klečka’s long‑term dedication to preserving and presenting Buddhist artistic heritage.

As part of adopting the SEE Learning program, we expanded our name to include the ethical dimension and elected a new director, Alexandra Kallay, who became the lead coordinator of SEE Learning in the Czech Republic.

DURING THE YEAR

2021

In 2021, IEEV z.s. received accreditation from the Ministry of Education under the program “Further Professional Development of Educators,” and since that year more than 1,000 printed copies of the Czech SEE Learning curriculum have been distributed.

2025

Establishment of cooperation with the Linhart Foundation at the communication center Školská 28, focused on using the space primarily for cultural dialogue and collaboration.

The global launch of the Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning program introduced a K–12 framework designed to cultivate compassion, ethics, and self‑awareness as essential components of “education of the heart.” Developed by the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics after more than two decades of collaboration between Emory University and the Dalai Lama, the initiative was presented by H.H. the Dalai Lama alongside prominent educational and humanitarian leaders, highlighting its mission to bring common human values and compassion-based learning into classrooms worldwide.

The Samvad (Dialogue) III initiative gathered religious leaders, scholars, and experts to deepen inter‑religious understanding, promote conflict avoidance, and advance environmental responsibility through shared Eastern philosophical perspectives. Hosted at the Gandan Monastery by the Vivekananda International Foundation, India with partners from Japan, and Mongolia, the gathering emphasized the role of Hindu‑Buddhist heritage in shaping contemporary approaches to peace‑building and ecological stewardship, strengthening the notion of India and Mongolia as long‑standing “spiritual partners” while positioning the platform as a collaborative space for addressing global challenges through Asia’s ethical and contemplative traditions.

Conference on Universal Ethics – The Vision of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for a Civilised and Peaceful World, held in commemoration of his 87th birth anniversary, brought together scholars and practitioners to reflect on the enduring relevance of his ethical vision. The event highlighted His Holiness’s lifelong commitment to compassion, non‑violence, and universal responsibility, emphasizing how his approach to secular ethics offers practical guidance for building more harmonious societies.

The 2nd International Buddhist Media Conclave on “Mindful Communication for Conflict Avoidance and Sustainable Development” gathered media professionals, scholars, and spiritual leaders to explore how Buddhist principles can guide ethical, balanced, and compassionate communication. Speakers including Baichung Bhutia, senior IBC and VIF representatives, and cultural figures emphasized Buddhism’s message of peace, truthfulness, and altruism, highlighting its relevance for restoring civilizational values and strengthening responsible media practices. The conclave underscored the need for journalism rooted in ethical conduct and mindful communication, noting growing global interest in Buddha’s teachings for conflict avoidance and sustainable development.

Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace (ABCP) — Co‑hosted by ABCP Mongolia and Dharma Alliance Geneva, this official side event of the 57th Session of the Human Rights Council explores Human Rights, A Cultural Heritage, highlighting how Dharma cultures have reflected on human rights obligations for millennia and translated them into rich individual and social practices, while offering perspectives on how global human‑rights norms can be deepened through Dharma principles of harmony, mutual respect, shared prosperity, and the interconnectedness of all life.

CELEBRATING GLORIOUS 90 YEARS OF HIS HOLINESS THE 14TH DALAI LAMA – SPIRITUAL WISDOM AND GLOBAL RELEVANCE brought together scholars and practitioners to honor the Dalai Lama’s lifelong influence as a global advocate of compassion, non‑violence, and ethical leadership. The conference highlighted the contemporary relevance of his spiritual teachings, his groundbreaking dialogues with science through the Mind and Life conversations, and his role in sustaining the Nalanda tradition and Tibetan culture worldwide. Emphasizing the enduring significance of his message, the event positioned his legacy as a vital guide for personal well‑being, global harmony, and a more compassionate and peaceful world.

The 2nd Global Buddhist Summit, themed “Collective Wisdom, United Voice, and Mutual Coexistence,” convened leading monks, scholars, and policymakers from around the world to examine how Buddhist philosophy can guide social harmony, ethical leadership, and sustainable living. Through international speakers, cultural presentations, and five thematic sessions, participants explored Buddhist perspectives on contemporary challenges—from right livelihood and education to science, healthcare, and Sangha dynamics—while exhibitions highlighted India’s role as a steward of Buddhist heritage. The summit also showcased national efforts to digitally preserve ancient Buddhist manuscripts and introduced NORBU, an AI model designed to support the study of Buddhist texts, reflecting a commitment to uniting traditional wisdom with modern innovation.
